Recently I realized I hadn’t gotten my personalized coupons in the mail from King Soopers for awhile. This has happened before, but an update to my King Soopers card fixed it. But, I just got an email from someone else who’s stopped getting them, too, and I’m wondering if they’ve just totally stopped sending them out. Have any of you received the personalized coupons in the mail from King Soopers lately? Click here to comment.

Just a reminder that this deal is today! Sonic is going to be selling a lot of corn dogs starting this week: they’re offering corn dogs for $0.50 each this Thursday, May 23rd, to celebrate the end of school! And, I’m pretty sure that I also saw a sign that said something about $0.50 corn dogs during happy hour (ongoing) but I can’t seen to find that online anywhere, so it may vary by location.
Happy end of school to you, whether you celebrate with Sonic corn dogs or not. :)

Memorial Day weekend brings thrift store sales: Goodwill stores of Denver and north Colorado are having a 50% off sale this Saturday, and they open at 8 AM for this sale. Arc Thrift Stores will have a 50% off sale this Saturday through Monday, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Salvation Army announced one to keep up with the Joneses, but I haven’t hard anything yet.
Update: yep, Salvation Army is having a sale on Memorial Day weekend! Everything (excluding jewelry) is 50% off this Friday, Saturday, and Monday (May 24th, 25th, and 27th).

The day after the Rockies win, you can order online at PapaJohns.com and use coupon code ROXWIN to save 40% off your entire order, and they will donate 10% to a Colorado charity! The ROXWIN does not work if you have any discounted items in your cart. The code is valid at participating Colorado Papa John’s locations the day after the Rockies win, regardless of how many runs they score. (The Rockies Taco Bell deal is only when they score seven or more.)

This post (watch the video) from my friend Jen cracked me up. I can totally see Jen doing this, and I have to admit that I’ve done it once myself, when Jeremy and I were on a business trip to Las Vegas and were broke (prior to going to Vegas, haha). I totally need to remember this next time we travel because I could fix a way better breakfast with a griddle, pancake mix, and some syrup that you get in the hotel lobby!
I’m gearing up to do another big round of freezer cooking in the next few days. I’m hoping to try America’s Test Kitchen’s Make-Ahead Pizza recipe and see if it’s worth the effort. I know homemade pizza is super easy, but I’m hoping the recipe works well so that we can have pizzas in the freezer that are truly freezer-to-oven. We used to buy frozen pizzas semi-regularly, but the super good deals on those have been pretty much non-existent and I really don’t like spending $10 on two frozen pizzas (if I buy the cheaper ones, I have to buy more of them!). So, anyway – tell me I’m crazy for trying to make my own frozen pizza, but I don’t really care. ;)
One of my goals this summer is to develop a good routine for myself and the kids. This past school year was chaotic due to not having a great rhythm to our days, and I think we’d all do better with a little more structure. So, my goal is to wake up at 6 and work until 8 (note: I will not be waking up at 6 regularly until the baby is consistently sleeping through the night, but we are getting there!), then feed everyone breakfast at 8. After breakfast, until 9, is cleanup time, where everyone pitches in and we do laundry and clean up the kitchen and sweep and mop and touchup bathrooms and whatever else, and I do not work (on the computer, that is). During the school year, we’ll do school in the morning, and I’ve promised the kids that we’ll do a walk or something outside after lunch every day. Then, I’ll do the rest of my work in the afternoon.
So far, the parts of the routine that we’ve implemented in the past week have gone well – the kids actually referred to “cleanup time” after breakfast today and it took no time at all for them to consider the after-lunch walk a given. The biggest change for me will be trying to do the bulk of my work in the afternoons, because right now I do most of it in the mornings and it’s hard for me to stop working when there’s still stuff that needs to be done. Since we are out of school for the year, I’m still working some in the mornings, but I’m trying to gradually ease that into the afternoons.
(For the few of you that I’d told I’d write a post about juggling what I do, it’s coming. Someday. But if you are curious about how I juggle stuff, then you probably realize that it’s hard to find time to write it! :)
