Eight Fun Gift Card Wrapping Ideas

Chances are, you’re giving at least one gift card to someone this Christmas.  And if you’re like a lot of people, you feel like giving gift cards is impersonal, but for some people, there just isn’t anything else to do, right?

Well, one way to personalize this “impersonal” type of gift (which I really don’t think is that impersonal, as most of us love getting gift cards!) is to figure out a cool way to wrap the card so that the recipient knows that you did put a little bit of time and thought into their gift!

Here are eight cool gift wrapping ideas for all sorts of gift cards.  Some are completely free and some may cost a dollar or two, but all would be great ways to spice up the giving of gift cards!

 

Sew two paint chips together to package a gift card from a home improvement store!  Head to Practically Living to see how she did it.

Need to wrap a Starbucks gift card?  I love this idea from Little Cakes!  Unfortunately, you might just have to buy yourself a Frappuccino if the barista won’t give you a clean cup for free. ;)

I like the idea of making a card that reflects what the gift card is for, especially if you are giving a generic Visa gift card and want it to be clear that it’s for the baby crib they wanted!  Credit to Merriment Designs for this cute idea.

If you’re giving a gift card to a book lover, it might be fun to spend a couple of extra dollars and get some cool books at a thrift store, then create a vintage-looking library card pocket to insert the gift card.  Creature Comforts has some templates you can use!
