Military Families Get Free Annual Pass To National Parks

Starting Saturday (Armed Forces Day), active-duty military families can get a free annual pass to our national parks!  This is the pass that gets you in free to all national parks that charge an entrance fee, and is normally $80 to purchase.  You can pick it up with your military ID at any national park.

This AP article says that “Each family member will also be able to obtain their own pass even if the service member is deployed or if they are traveling separately.”  Yay!

I can appreciate the honoring of those serving; however, those who have served and are retired I believe should be afforded the same privilege. Along with the many Reservists and National Guard personnel who are serving as well.
