So our Albertsons here in CO are now split from the other Albertsons – ours are technically Allbertsons Markets – and they don’t allow stacking of coupons. They will only let you use one store – OR – one manufacturer coupon on an item. :( If you ever get a store coupon for something (like from the Monopoly game pieces) you’ll see the wording on there that you can only use one coupon per item – and they literally mean that – not like when other coupons will say weird things like “cannot be combined with any other offer.” I’ve checked this several times with management (at least here in Fort Collins anyways). I think that the “instant redeemable coupon” is usually a mfr one that the cashiers have at the registers. They’ve had that in the past up here, that it says “with in store coupon” – and then the cashier tears a mfr one off a pad at their register when you check out :D

    • Just last weekend at the store on Horsetooth and College, I bought two of the Smart Balanace Spreadable Butters (in two separate transactions) and used the store coupon from the June monthly ad and a MQ, to get it for free, and it worked. Before the cashier scanned the coupons she said, “I don’t know if this will take both of them,” but the register took them both without beeping and she let it go through. Two separate cashiers did this for me. I also did the same thing with Planters Peanut Butter, where I had a Monopoly coupon and a MQ and it worked then too. Maybe I’m getting lucky. I’m going there tomorrow again to try and get more free Smart Balance, so we’ll see if it works or not.

    • Well, that’s my frustration with Colorado Albertsons – they won’t set an official policy so it depends on which store you shop at and which cashier you get. :/ You definitely can’t combine manufacturer’s coupons (they do sometimes have in-ad coupons that are manu coupons, but most are store coupons) but sometimes they’ll let you combine the store coupons.

I think the Monopoly coupons are usually manufacturer’s coupons, so they can’t be stacked. But often when they do those full-page spreads of coupons, those are store coupons and you can *probably* stack them with a manufacturer’s coupons since it is basically a “sale price that requires a coupon”. Again, that depends on the cashier you get, though, which is one reason I haven’t been to Albies in a long time! Wish they’d just set an official policy so there would be some consistency.

Good to know that their instant redeemable coupons are usually manufacturer’s coupons, though!
