Safeway has good deals on pork loin and 7-bone beef chuck steak and roast this week, plus peaches for $0.77/lb! Peaches are such a hard thing for me to rate – they vary so much in quality that it’s hard to know what rating it should have. But, that’s a price I’d feel comfortable buying some and freezing them if they’re good.

For some reason none of this week’s posts seem to be showing up in the grocery tag. I had to do a site search for Safeway to find this one.
They wouldn’t take my real california dairy coupons on the Lucerne cheese – Saying it has to be “Real California Dairy” Brand – I pointed out the stamp on the lucerne cheese, they still said no.
Argh, that’s frustrating. Doesn’t the coupon even say “with the Real California Dairy *label*” or something like that? Sorry it didn’t work for you. I’m always hesitant to use that coupon because I know it will beep and require approval… I plan to use it when my kids aren’t with me, hehe. :)

Regarding the Lucerne cheese. I am guessing it must be the store or area. I’ve gone to two seperate Safeway stores and gotten the cheese no problem. I also had a personalized deal for the Lucerne cheese for $1.77 so with the doubling of the coupons, I got about 16 packages of cheese for .77 since I had a bunch of the real california cheese coupons. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you! Bummer! I hate when that happens. They did beep, but both cashiers just overrode the beeping.
Yeah, some cashiers are more likely to override it. I’ve spoken with Safeway’s Denver corporate office (in person!) and they assured me that the cashier should override it without fear of getting in trouble for doing so, but… Yeah, that often doesn’t happen.
I had no problems with this coupon. Although the cashier waved off my explanation at the beginning when I wanted to show her how many cheeses and coupons I had, and therefore had to dig through my bags and receipt before overriding it.
