I guess the starkest tuna says do not double so they didn’t double for me. Since I’m not from here I’m not sure if this is the norm or a ymmv type of thing.
Usually the register automatically doubles it if the barcode starts with a 5. It’s somewhat unusual for Safeway to override that (Albertsons does sometimes) but Safeway has gotten really “your mileage may vary” on lots of coupon issues lately, unfortunately. :(
