Do you know of any bread outlet stores in the Denver metro area?
If you know of a bread outlet store in the Denver area, please comment with your tips!
For those who don’t know what a bread outlet store is, it’s a small, usually manufacturer-owned store that sells bread either direct from the bakery, or bread that’s a few days from expiring that’s been removed from “regular” grocery store shelves by the manufacturer’s own stockers. You can usually get some great deals on items like sandwich bread, bagels, tortillas, and more at these stores.

Off of Evans and Federal in back of the brentwood center there is a little one, and on Evans and Colorado Im not sure the exact street but it is about two blocks east of Colorado blvd on the right side.

This is one of the best-kept secrets in town among budget-minded carb lovers. Owned by Bimbo (which bought out Mrs. Baird’s), the Entenmann’s Oroweat Bakery Outlet stores (there are five in the Denver metro area under the name Mrs. Baird’s, Oroweat, or Entenmann’s) sell Oroweat, Entenmann’s, Marinela, Boboli pizza crusts, Thomas English muffins and more. Most days you’ll find a Buy-One-Get-One-Free deal. Plus for every $5 you spend, you get an item from the “free” rack. Everything is sold below grocery store prices and nothing is more than three days old (after that the goods are donated to local food banks). Fresh items are marked down 20%, day-old items even more. Military members and their families always receive a 10% discount. Plus every shopper gets a Bakery Outlet Punch Card. Fill your punch card and receive extra freebies. Note: everything freezes quite nicely, typically up to three months.
I heard (from the Orowheat outlet in Colorado Springs) that Orowheat recently bought out Sara Lee, so they may start carrying those products, too! I love the Orowheat outlet in the Springs. :)
Great news! I always buy Sara Lee because it’s the cheapest whole wheat bread I’ve found in the grocery store (usually get a loaf for $2 or less). I’m eager to see what it costs at the outlet! I’m sure with all the extra deals (coupons and punch cards), I can get a better price there. Thanks for posting my question!
I’m so glad to know there’s so many!!! I’m in Longmont, and go to one of 2 in Loveland.
I had to buy a loaf in an emergency a few weeks back, and about fainted from the prices at the grocery….never again will I forget to check my stock!
Enjoy – our favorites at our outlet include a splurge of a couple bucks on donuts every once in awhile, and the vast assortment of other tasty things they have on the shelves.
Watch for B1G1 Free coupons for the Orowheat Outlet! They usually comein the mail- in those Value Pack coupon mailers. The coupon can be used on bread or Thomas’ bagels.
There’s one in Commerce City 72nd and HWY 2 (in front of the Rainbow factory) and there is one in Thornton on Huron between 88th and Thornton Parkway (I don’t know the exact location).
there are also 3 Wonder/Hostess outlets – smaller than Entenmanns, but they carry Wonder and Hostess products and a few other brands. Good prices – I regulary buy Wonder Smart Choice for $0.99 and it’s almost $4 at the grocery store! Here are the locations:
Dolly Madison
5441 MARSHALL
Arvada, CO 80002
303-423-2970
Wonder / Hostess
80 EAST 62ND AVE
Denver, CO 80216
303-428-7431
Wonder / Hostess
911 VAN BUREN
Loveland, CO 80537

At the Orowheat Exposition outlet, Tues and Sunday are double punch day. Plus bring your own bags for extra “things” and buy 8 things you get 2 free (from select items) I went last week and scored 6 loaves of bread, the kind I would normally buy Sara Lee, 2 Thomas’ English muffins packages, 2 Entenmann’s powdered donut bags all for $8. And it happened to be a Tuesday so my card was punched for $16. When you reach $40 in punches you get a free item AGAIN! This store is My new found love, especially since we go through bread like crazy!
