I know it’s cliche but I’m going to say it anyway: can you believe it’s November?!
My oldest just read the above sentence over my shoulder and said, “It’s November?!” :) We realized that it’s time to rotate our seating positions at the dinner table. Oh, I know it sounds really ridiculous, but in May I got tired of the arguments over who got to sit where and by whom and made a seating chart that rotates every month. It’s worked great, with only a few arguments since then. The 7-year-old likes to point out that some people get more time depending on the month but I keep telling him that over the next twelve years or however long he’s at home, it will even out.
I should probably admit that I haven’t done laundry for two days. Oops. It must get done – all the way – today. I don’t know what the deal has been this week, but I’ve had trouble staying on top of things that I don’t normally struggle with. I’ve been working on a new ebook and that’s thrown me off, I guess, along with less sleep than usual.
I’m looking forward to the time change on Sunday – are you? OK, I’m not looking forward to the adjustment in our daily schedule, but I’m happy that it will be light at 6 AM now – that will make it much easier to get up when I want to! Of course, that means the kids will wake up earlier, too… But they aren’t allowed to come out of their rooms until 8 AM (so that I can get work done – or sleep in if I’ve had a sleepless night) so hopefully that won’t be too big of an issue.
I would like to say to this baby food company, you lie:
I don’t know what I was expecting, but that putrid green mixture gave me a startle when I poured it out. The bright green and pink on the packaging really made me believe they could actually make cooked spinach shelf-stable and still be bright green. (Obviously, I don’t buy a lot of baby food. In fact, I think this is maybe second time I’ve ever bought jarred baby food (and this is kid #5). I tried making my own with the first one, and he hated it and just started eating soft foods when he was eight or nine months and the others have basically been the same way. I got the above cheaply and thought I’d try it just to see.)
Oh, hey, shameless plug: if you’re in the market for a house in Colorado Springs, check out this house that my husband just listed! Or if you need to sell/buy a house in Colorado Springs and want to use the best realtor in town, check out his portfolio here. :)
My seven-year-old thinks it’s really cool when I type “fancy” on the computer. He thinks that he has to learn how to type a special way to get it in a different font, which I guess makes sense since he’s learning cursive and obviously that’s a totally different technique than printing. I suppose someday I’ll tell him you can change what it looks like with a click of a button.
