Safeway Weekly: Great Deals on Trash Bags, Cheese, and More

Safeway has some great deals on $5 Friday this week – don’t forget that you can load those $5 Friday deals to your Safeway card through their Just for U center and get the same prices on Saturday and Sunday, too!  They have a great price on Hefty trash bags and Lucerne shredded cheese, and potentially a good deal on Reynold’s foil, but for whatever reason I’m not very sharp on the going rate for foil.  (I use it, just don’t have a good grasp of the price.)  Would you say that $4.00 for 75 sq ft is a good deal?

  1. For the Cheese, if you still have a few copies around of the $.55/1 Real California coupon available (Exp 1/31/13), that deal gets even better! I made a point of running off a bunch of copies in anticipating it would be taken down eventually.

  2. Carrie,
From what I remember about the foil is that walmart is usually $2.83 or something like that for 75 sq ft. I usually stock up on the 75 sq ft foil if it is $1.50 or less (although I never see it below $1.50). Safeway always throws out the foil deals with in ad coupons. With the in ad coupons they sell for $2.50, however if there is a Reynolds foil coupon to stack it with, it usually drops down to $1.50. At least that is how I remember it. I haven’t stocked up on foil in a while from Safeway because they weren’t running any deals for a while and I really needed it, so I broke down and bought the two pack at Sam’s Club.

  3. OK, so we totally had a misstep in the foil price – it’s actually 75 sq feet of non-stick OR 200 sq feet of regular foil. So, $4.00 for 200 sq feet sounds like it would actually be a REALLY great price compared to what you guys are telling me?

  4. I went to Safeway today, and it seems like these deals expired on Sunday. I asked about their in-store coupons and I was told there was a new add on Sunday and it does not have any coupons…is this right? I was very sad! :(
