Last weekend was a busy one – my best friend got married and I was matron of honor! I’ve never been a bridesmaid before, so I was super excited to be able to cross that off my proverbial bucket list before I turn thirty. :)

Jeremy watched the kids a ton while I was doing bridesmaid stuff last week, so he is especially happy that it’s over and done with. :) I got my first ever manicure for the wedding – can’t say I will be doing that again anytime soon, but it was fun to be able to do the girl stuff that goes along with being a bridesmaid. I’m definitely ready to get back to real life this week, though!
The baby has gotten six teeth in the past four or so weeks. Oh yes, there has been lots of crying going on at our house! I’m just hoping that the grouchiness we’ve been experiencing is teeth-related so that it goes away soon! She only had her two bottom teeth until Christmas, and then the top four and two more bottom ones came in one right after another. I can’t say I want her or myself to ever experience that again.
This post about adults needing bedtimes was a must-read. I would agree with the author that one of the top things you can do to improve your marriage would be to commit to regularly going to bed at the same time!
I had to laugh yesterday when our 7yo son wanted to tell me his Bible verse for AWANA. He handed me his book and immediately proceeded to run circles around the kitchen table, saying his verse perfectly as he was running. When I relayed it to Jeremy later, he mused that maybe it’s easier for kids to do a mental task while their body is in motion. Moving around comes naturally to kids; it takes concentration to sit or stand still, so in some ways it’s probably easier for them to recall something they’ve memorized if they don’t have to invest brain power into sitting still while they’re doing it. Makes sense to me!

Oh my goodness, my kids do the same thing when reciting their AWANA verses!!!! Makes sense to me, I guess I’ll stop telling them to sit still while they do it.
Glad it’s not just mine! I have decided to “grin and bear it” and I figure as long as they actually know how to obey and sit still when they really have to, they’ll turn out ok!
