Best Grocery Deals for Thanksgiving 2013: Compare Prices for Turkey, Ham, Potatoes, Cranberries, and More

Wondering who has the best deal on turkey, hams, sweet potatoes, or cranberries this year? We’ve put together a comparison of the prices of common Thanksgiving dinner essentials so you can see who has the best overall deals for what’s on your Thanksgiving shopping list.

Prices from Albertsons, King Soopers, Safeway, Sprouts, Target, and Whole Foods are included, and if you share prices that you’ve found at other stores, we’ll update the list with those deals!

The Albertsons and King Soopers prices are valid beginning Wednesday, November 20th.  Most deals are valid through Thanksgiving Day.  Target’s prices are valid through Saturday, November 23rd but I don’t anticipate that they will change much with the new ad on Sunday.  Sam’s Club’s prices were checked online on November 19th.

  1. If anyone else is looking for organic turkey, Costco has them for $2.79/lb, much better than $3.99/lb at Sprouts and Whole Foods which are the only places I’ve seen them at so far this year.

  2. Walmart in Falcon has sweet potatoes for .25 a lb.

  3. This list is a joke! Walmart has THE best price on hams!!

  4. What about butter?
